Matt, I would have to guess that house keeping ran them out I can see Laura telling them "hell give me one more hour I'll pay you for the day just one more hour please", then laughing. Can't wait til next time Laura.
We were one of the last Mavericks to leave, and we ran over to Walmart, and when we came out at 12:00 to hit Route 3 to go home, we could still see Mark, Matt, and Wes still there!
We finally got home around 6:30 today, after a stopover in St Louis for some more 'family time' at the Science Center. I hugged my car when I got home. (ok, not really, but i should )
I was the last of the group to check out. I have always been a terrible procrastinator...I didn't want the weekend to end!!! Ward, I feel really bad that I didn't get up in time to give you a ride...maybe you and John can arrange a minimeet in September or October and we can swing down to Kentucky(YEAH......KENTUCKY!!!!!!!) Laura says: "I had to tell Mark to get his A.I.S. so we could leave! Next year Ward get ready, you are going to be my new duet partner...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!! You guys are a lot of fun, can't wait until next year..."
All I can say Mark is ! I don't think you, me, or Matt really wanted to go home. Our trip was totally uneventful to Cincinnati or home from there today. The side trip was successful for the police car parts I needed and what I needed to get for Chuck Stalnaker. Now, the 4 door will have all it needed to finish it and I'm somewhat poorer, story of our lives.
Too bad I couldn't make it this year...hopefully next year I will be able too. So I hear it was a lot of fun. How many Mav's were there?
round-up Ye Haaaaa Well this is goin to be long. I would like to thank all the organizers and volinteers for such a great Round-up. Being my first one I didnt know what to expect and didnt know but 2 lovable clowns at the start. I would like to thank John Ford and family, Ward (the instigator) F and family for making me feel at home. I left the hotel at 10:00 am and arrived at my home at 11:00 pm. The car is now safe at home and I have started changes already. For those that didnt go to Round-up my total mileage from start to finish was 4,420.3 MILES. Not 1 problem in the hole trip. Thank god. Next year will be easier than falling off a log. Should be only 650 miles or so. For those that didnt attend I went from Toronto Ontario Can, to Albuquerque NM. Dollied a car and went to Round-up then home. Hense the mileage. Definately going to next years Round-up with something other than a white car. It's a surprise.Last but not least I would like to thank all the others that attended for their friendship. Now i can put a face to some of the parties on the board. That drag racing was absolutely great as I havent been on a drag strip in 28 years. Made 16 passesin the Mav and some thought I was a Nascar driver. You dont know what you missed. By for now The CRAZY CANUCK.
And I gotta tell ya people, that crazy canuck helped make this Roundup the best ever. Enjoyed meeting ya. Dan
Ron, all I can say is that this was my first round-up as well, and it was great meeting you! You helped make it memorable!!! You forgot to the tell those who were not there that you had already made your first mod to the car before you got there!!! For those who didn't know Ron even stopped and had a dual exhaust put on the car before getting to the round-up!!!
