Here is the guy I bought my car's previous owners Fairmont, it hooks well as you can see. His name is Chris Robinson. He races at Milan Ocasionally. This car has a 537 BBF and runs somewhere in the 10's. http://motorcitynationals.com/v-web/gallery/v/album394/DOC3118.jpg.html He also has a tubbed out White Maverick, next time I see it, hopefully I will have my camera.
Nice car! Steve is getting to retire the capri. He actually built the car over 20yrs ago. He is currently getting ready to start on a 1972 maverick he picked up last year. Plans are for a tube chassis street car. With his engine and trans combo, it should drop into the sub 9's....hopefully! Not to shabby for an 'ol 94 octane pump gas motor.
I've seen this car up close and personal and all I can say is WOW........ Tim lyncy, the guy that drives the car, is a super nice guy and down to earth from what I've seen, which is odd considering he is the fastest man in the WORLD in outlaw 10.5. I actually got to talk to him once and ask if he cared if I took a few pics of his engine while he had the hood off, he said "go right ahead" and then proceeded to let me take pictures until I was done then he put the hood back on.
Yep a friend of Frank and I helps with the engine and tuning of that car... His name is Brian Anderson...and this is his street car making a pass with the "wick" turned down (caution language) Click the link at the top of the box to view. Hey, Have you ever seen this 'Stang at Norwalk. My dad's friend's wife drives it, Vicky Novotny, she races it, and Dan Novotny, her husband, works on the car.
It's funny you ask....I haven't been to the track in a couple of years. Quite a few years ago, I got rid of all of my cars and parts....for family. Well, she's long gone, and over the rears I've reaquired cars and parts. About 2 years ago I got fed up with watching everyone else have fun and myself being the spectator, so I swore that I wouldn't go back until I had a finished car. I had to put the maverick on the backburner for now, for a car that didn't need the amount of work the mav did. My 1980 zephyr will be out by the time the snow melts....mild 460, c-4, 9" Here's a link to my photo site. It has an album for my maverick and zephyr. http://s316.photobucket.com/albums/mm338/z7turbo/
