If it was mine I would just disconnect the horn. It would seem that the problem is either the horn or the wire going to it.

    Just my 2 cents.

J.Hope, I had a simular experience a while back when I went to North Carolina on vacation. The horn started blowing in the middle of the night for no reason. The only thing we could figure out was the temperature change outside (28 degrees) caused something to contract just enough to make contact and blow the horn. Does it blow in both hot and cold ambient temperatures? If thats not it I would go straight to that new steering wheel you just installed a double check your horn contact clearances.

Maybe you tightened the three bolts that hold the steering wheel to the adapter too tight?? if thats the type of steering wheel??? Im not too sure. When i put on the grant wheel, i put them too tight and it would arch and blow the horn.

It definitely is not a module going bad...the on-board electronics in the Mav are just not sophisticated enough for anything like that! :D

Also, Mavs do not use any kind of horn relay like some cars do..12v runs up to the steering wheel and is switched by the switch in the center pad. Any "shorting" of the wires along the way would likely just create sparks and/or a blown fuse. I am thinking that there is something going on in the steering column that causes 12v to flow across the pins under the wheel only when you happen to be turning the key...that is the place I would start looking for the problem...

Does this problem ONLY happen when you are starting (cranking) the car, and does the horn work OK otherwise?

Let me add that it only does it once. If I was turn off the car after it starts and re start it. The horn doesn't blow?

My first thought was an aftermarket alarm.

If that's not it, I'd search the web for a budget-priced Exorcist.
