I love the car but IMHO it looked better with out the wing and chin spolier. Maybe paint them black? They stick out to much and detract from the over all look. Congrats and maybe when my car gets down we can square off on a road course someday.....talk about fun

Speaking of road course... Did the car do the Autocross this last weekend? If so, how did it perform>

    Spectre?

I thought the car was going to be driven on Power Tour? Did they ever do anything about the $10 carpet dash pad, or fix the column shifter? How is the car doing driveability wise, and have you guys run it on the dyno/road coarse/drag strip? Just curious about the numbers, as it gives me an idea as to what to aim our low-buck combo at!

We just finished the Power Tour on Saturday, drove the Maverick the entire Tour, was a total blast. Everyone loved the Maverick, there was always a crowd around it asking lots of questions. Most older people had no clue what the engine was, all of the younger crowd knew exactly what it was, it definitely is an attention getter.

Awesome pics. Looks like the car was able to attract attention from multiple generations. Probably not planned that way but a bonus non-the-less.

So is the car yours to keep or is it part of their fleet?

Can you get me a discount on some modular air intake parts? :thumbs2:

Did you get to run it in the Autocross? Any performance numbers?

    sour grapes

Nope, still think it looks like a stock Maverick that some Mexicans straight from Tijuana bought and stuck home-made spoilers on. The hood and wheels are the only thing that look remotely interesting on the outside. And so far, I still have not seen that the $10 piece of Autozone carpet isn't on the dash. Drove the whole Power Tour, huh? You do realize that part of the fun is driving there and back, right? How many miles did the car actually get driven? Ever check fuel mileage to see how it did? Did you guys autocross or drag race the car?

I was at a car show and swap meet this weekend where there was a 1972 Grabber... from 10 feet it looked about as nice as this car, with the only outside mods being the 1969 Mustang style chin spoiler and a set of 17 inch Torque Thrusts. As far as outside appearance, I would have taken it over this car any day. But I can see from the rest of the pictures that adding a gay looking chin spoiler and wing is a pre-requisit for being loaded on the Spectre Trailer... oops, did I say that out loud? Guess that will knock me out of claiming my prize from the contest! I like the engine bay and suspension mods, but would not loose my back seat for that suspension compared to a conventional setup. I also would not give up my trunk for all of the junk in there... which reminds me, any pictures of how much luggage you actually packed in there for the Power Tour, or did it end up traveling in another vehicle?

P.S, my wife, who also frequents this board and is a
Maverick fanatic, thinks the car is just goofy, but she does like the stereo! She said she wouldn't give up her back seat for it, though!
