I'm not sure I'd say different. I'm just not like anybody else.

I've stuck with my 6 for the simple reason that it's a daily driver and I don't "need" a V8. The long block of the engine is a totally stock 35,000 original mile '71 200... I have done a few things to help improve efficiency, header, dual exhaust, electric fan, MSD ignition with platinum plugs. I've got a sneaking suspicion that this thing may rub elbows with 30 mpg hwy. when it warms back up outside. It's doing extremely well as far as gas mileage goes.

Sorry...six don't cut it for me. I like the performance too much and I like to show my cars. Popping the hood of a car with a 6-banger just does absolutely nothing for me. No comparison for the sound either. :burnout:

I kept the stock I6 in my car because it only had 77,000 on it when I bought it (has 87,000 now). The motor runs too good to swap out at the moment but if it ever tears up a 302 is going into its place. :yup:

I think if I get another car with a 6cyl in it, I'll keep it that way. Just because it has been a long time since I have had one, and the gas mileage might be refreshing.

We kept the 250 in our red and white 77' Maverick for several reasons. One reason is that it's a low mileage engine that runs like new. There is nothing wrong with the engine, so why swap it out? The 250's are dependable engines that will last a good long time if they are taken care of. They are also easy to work on. Another reason is that it's great on gas, which means it's lighter on the wallet. Another reason is that I like my cars stock, or at least to look stock. I love looking at the Mavericks and Comets that have been built to the nines, but that is something I simply do not have the funds to do with my cars. One more reason why I kept the 250 is that my cars are street drivers. Last but not least, my other 77' Maverick already has a 302. Now I have one of each. The 250 I have is certainly is not built for speed or performance. If I want to have a little fun, I can hop into the other Maverick and smoke the tires.:D

Stock rims! I think the only options on this car was the am radio, automatic tranny. My great Uncle was cheap, but bought this back in mid 70's used. If he would've bought it new there would have been no options!
