I guess you have to be seasoned here to think it was funny, there are more sarcastic things said than that and nobody gets upset. I could see if you had it in the classifieds, then it would be rude. But you weren't really selling and he wasn't really buying.

By the way........ $55 is my bid. Wonder how long until this gets moved

Check ebay for maverick consolette and in the advanced search look at Auctions That Ended, should be able see what they sell for. You wold be able to get the most out of them on Ebay, most of us here are cheap bastards. :stirthepot: :hide:

Now what we have here is a simple cultural misunderstanding... See, Justin is from Kentucky, which is a part of what we refer to as "the south." (It's like Southern California except, not at all.)

In your part of the country, what you suggest is likely a common and reasonable way to pass the time, but here in the south we just don't have the same kind of postmen that you do.

    Get it?

In all honesty, since it's been painted, it's not worth much.
The clock is worth the real money, but if the lens has paint on it or is in poor condition, it's not worth much either.
Take it for what it's worth, don't take things so personally.

Unfortunately the true meaning of a comment is easily lost when its in type. See I know Justin a bit from ALL his posts and threads.... So I knew the 5 buck thing was a smart ass joke.(he knows its worth more) If you didnt know him it could be easily taken as an insult. I can see how it might tick you off Sidesho. Glad its all good now.

Prime example of why I am not a regular. I drop in every few months, make a comment, someone takes it wrong, and I go back to working on old fords in my shop- far away from the computer.

I find this to be one of the best forums I've used. I like the fact that not too many ignorant people on here. I think I've made quite a few friends that I hope to meet someday.

Take Derek5.0 for example. I wouldnt likely have ever met him if it wasnt for the forums. Hes only an hour or so from here.
Mavman72 in Buffalo. Near by and will meet up with him eventually I'm sure. All the guys we get together with around here communicate through the forums on one level or another. Met many great people thanks to the forums. I guess I just ignore the negative and use the forum as a benefit.
    Just my 2 cents.

well i took some time and cleaned it up, took it all apart and washed it down with hot soapy water, cleaned up decent, no paint on the clock the inside is still fuzzy

i've had offers up to 100 dollars through pm's but i think im gunna throw it in a box and hold on to it, im not hurting for money at the moment and maybe ill use it one day

i appreciate the guy who stepped up and saw it my way, its kinda like lowballers on craigslist, its insulting to offer someone up a price thats 1/10th of what its worth, but hey, whatever i guess you guys do things different in the south

all in all thanks for the info, no hard feelings

This is a very "polite" forum...I am a member of some like this and some that can be down right rude. But when you ask what something is worth...expect a few jabs. Heck other forums I'm a member of would have cussed you and told you "this isn't a %&*^$ appraisal site!". Be respectful...all the rest of us are.

But as for the consolette..I'd say you could ebay it for around $80.00. MOre if you're lucky.
