    As of right now I have $200 into it. I got the car and all the parts for free. I even have some spare parts. But of course there is more that i need.. alot more!!

    I am expecting to have it done for around $7500. It may end up closer to 10k. I am trying to be carefull on where I and how I spend the money.

    I tried to start with a car in decent shape this time to keep the over all cost down so .... 4k for the car to start and about a grand scince .......still have a long way to go for the new paint ,347 stroker, trans/rear and wheels to make what I wanted ... a true low 11 sec. street car to cruise on weekends and play at the strip in or drive at shows??// hope to end up around 15k when done but still way over what it will be worth to some...

    I've got about $2200 in the Comet as of now. I've had it since '97. All this stuff was done '97-'99;
    '72 Comet-$900
    5.0 long block-$200
    used b303 cam-$50
    new exhaust-$100
    rebuild 5.0/c4/frontend-$600
    MSD 6a-$108
    2 new tires-$120
    I've traded around and acquired several extras, repair parts & such. With paint/interior/weatherstrip and me wanting to convert to a T5, I'm probably going to be in it about 10k. If I put a fair market value on the stuff I got dirt cheap, or have had for years, probably more like 15-18K.
    The '75 Maverick is a beater/driver. I traded for it for about $180 cash and some parts that added up to the $700 the owner wanted for it. Other than an oil change, 2 used tires and robbing the battery from my '78 Wagoneer I've put no more $$ into it since I've had it.

    Well...

    when i added up the parts i remember buying i came to roughly $7700, i have gotten my "tide me over" motor together and still needing a torque converter to install it. i have yet to get to the body work portion which includes a new partial front window frame and a fiberglass front end. and some sort of exstensive undercarriage bracing after the look is there i will focus on a aluminum filled interior design, and a beefed 9" out back. once all that is complete i plan on a Ford Racing boss black based mill with alum. cleveland style heads. all eagle bottom end, with a fabricated aluminum tunnel ram and nos. so im guessing i will finish just under 20k about a hundred years from now!!!:thumbs2:

    Don't worry all those Mavericks were either parts that come from long dead cars, one of the Mavericks was going to the bone yard one way or another and i grabbed the parts before they died. And last of all the passenger fender on my Comet come from the long dead Deadboy Maverick. deadboy_side_small_copy_original.jpg Trust me if i could have saved each and every one of them and kept them in the garage i would have. Unlike some of these guys i do like Mavericks as well as Comets.:D

    I installed an old Quicken 98 program I had that came with an old computer and logged in my receipts and put them in categories (Suspension, Drivetrain and so on). I can pull up charts/graphs, itemized categories and detailed category reports showing dates, parts, vendors, how much spent...now I know what I didn't wanna know. :cry:
