Well the center link I took off does not look like the power one shown. Mine had a stud at the end the idler arm slipped over. I am very confused on this...
I have seen two styles of idler arms. Not sure if there is a year break or what: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Stee...ories&fits=Model:Maverick&hash=item2eb6156d68 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MOOG...ories&fits=Model:Maverick&hash=item5ae035f147
Thanks. I guess I just need to figure out what I need to make it work. The one that looks right says its for 70-72 would that matter if my car is a 75?
Does the car year the center link came off of mean anything in doing this conversion? Not sure what year I have. I did see this though. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...19&item=330556256204&viewitem=&category=33593
Im not sure if the center link differences are only due to the differing idler arm attachments. If they are, then you just need to get the idler arm that matches. Maybe someone can chime in with the answer.
i wonder why no one has come up with a better center link that is a direct replacement to drop the assist?
Ford did...i put a...manual 69.5 drag link/pitman arm on and pulled all the assist off my '73 Mav... ...thanks Mike...:Handshake I think Jeff got the complete front sup. when I went...rack-n-pinion... ...Frank...
i was wondering where all thoes junk parts went...then I remembered...Jeff hauled them off...thanks Jeff...:Handshake
yep...the hard part is getting the...pitman arm...off. i got a loaner...pitman arm puller...from Auto Zone and broke it. went back an got another one, got the arm off but the puller was done...
I use the one for the F-Super Duty. If you break that one on a Maverick, you've done something wrong. ...of course there are always exceptions.
