Nice deal!! My second car was 74' Comet Gt. Bringing back some great memories!!! Looks like this one found a good home!!!
Craig- Do we know what years or production plants had the buck tag on the radiator support? I know the '74 GT's that I have looked at, mine included, did not have one. At least not my car. Seth
Here she is all cleaned up. Looks like a new car! Except, I did find rust...The drivers floor board almost has a hole in it. The rear 1/4's just behind the wheels is pretty bad. Other than that, not to bad...I did rattle can the hood stripe, hood scoop & rear tailight panel & bezels. The Mag wheels are worth more than I paid for the car... The wheels look like new, after a whole can of Mother's Aluminum wheel & Mag cleaner. Took 1 hour per wheel, to get them looking like this...well worth the effort.
Cool .... The Red Grabber with White Interior I parted out in Ohio was built in Dearborn ... It was a 1972 car and it had a buck tag ... I still have it ...
Well, I got her figured out today (74 Comet GT). The starter switch mounted on the steering column was bad. Cost $21.00 for a new one. Now she starts just fine with the key. Also got her a new battery while I was at it...I also got the 73 Comet GT going again today. The timing was way off, I had to pull the distributor & retime it. Now she runs great also. Cleaned her up & polished her. Took both of them for a little cruise. Got lots of looks & "nice car". Now I have to replace the radiators in both, leaking & overheating if I go very far. Now all of them are running. Now I have to decide which one, I'm going to drive as a commuter car. Here's a few pics. Enjoy!!!
