I just Bought this '71 Maverick...

hey, got the car yesterday! no trac-lok unfortunately but feels like it has gears, maybe its a 3.0:1 ratio? not sure have to look for the tag. the motor is very responsive, have to pull a valve cover to see if it has roller valve train.. also, no power steering and the previous owner installed a tiny steering wheel, will definately need to change to a larger one to ease up the turning effort...also has a small cowl leak, towards the passenger side... hopefully thats an easy fix.... i gave it a quick bath and had to get going, I'll be checking it out further today...i attached a quick pic... i really like this car!

I dont really like the mirrors either...they are plastic! hopefully be able to find something a little better...thanks

 

Should be able to find a set of Maverick mirrors. I use to have a set of mirrors, like you have now, and the chrome body was on a pivot, if you went over a bump, it would flop down...

 

Yep...thats them! floppy useless mirrors! lol.... but ok for now until I find a decent set... hopefully something that can just bolt right on too! ...
