come on..... let see, some of were not at the Round-up Nationals and did not get to see it first hand
Wow Dave....for a California car....it was ALMOST in Canada too long! I could have cleaned and waxed the underside of my car it was still that nice.
O.K......you asked for it: Leaf Spring (Build sheet code: OOP) Driveshaft: Axle: (I have no idea what is supposed to be on there....I thought an "X" would look good.....very Mustang Monthly so to speak)
Sweet! Looks great. Any other factory reproduced markings? Like on trunk lids/hoods, engine bay, etc?
I tried to buy the car 6 years earlier, when the 1st owners grandson brought it from California, it sat outside in the summer, and in an un-heated garage in the winter, If I would have got it sooner, I'm sure it would have been alot nicer.
If one looks at the front of the driver's side valve cover, you can see an OK stamp that would have been there from the factory. I got the stamp from Dan Hines. There would have been other stamps on the car as well. For example, a D-2 or D-1 would have been stamped on both front fenders where it bolts to the apron, on the cowl panel near where the wiper washer hoses "tee" together, and I have also seen them on the inside of the hood and trunk lids. My trunk lids had inspection stickers placed inside it, and I have replaced those in the same location. I will see if I have a picture of those.
My '74 Grabber is the only car I have which had one. Here are some original markings on my '72. One of my 76's has a 6 in the same place as the 2 in the pic.
Uh Oh, is this staring to get out of hand?? Maybe we should have a section, or a post just for this stuff? I have loads of pic's saved from over the years with Maverick/Comet factory markings.
