Our 5 offices are having a fundraiser over the next 3 days in
conjunction with a local church organization. We are volunteering to collect
cash, clothes, can good, water, cleaning and toiletry supplies to be shipped
out Mon. or Tues. I am not sure where it will end up. I would suspect that
it will be distributed by other churches or the Red Cross.

I could create a paypal "donate" account if this would help?
People could send cash, check, or donate on the paypal thing.
Just donate it to the paypal account created, then we can transfer it to whoever

If anyone hears from Ray, I'll be happy to help, but I got hit a pretty good whack too, I'm not in the position to send money.

I can offer help with cars n such, storage, whatever. I'm about 150 miles north of him.

Wayne; tried to get in touch with Ray, but the phone circuits are constantly busy, which is understandable. I will keep trying, and I will keep the boards updated with the Club and what they are doing. I just want to say that the folks on this board are the finest anywhere, and your generousity and compassion is inspiring. I know we will be very proud of what we are doing.
    Take care,

    Earl

In my area we have a group that goes by "Gods Pit Crew" . They hold car shows and fund raisers and such often . Anytime we have a disaster such as this thy take up local donations of the neccesities and deliver them to the people affected. This is what they are looking for right now around here. We are fixing our bucket up right now to give to them. Seems that America is stepping up and doing what needs to be done.Whatever the club decides to do to help then Im in for it. Heres what "Gods Pit Crew " is doing to help. Can you imaginine what this bucket of stuff will mean to someone who has lost everything.

    Tim

Sitting here in Washington DC it seems so far away. I was wondering how I might be able to help. It's a great feeling knowing I am a part of a community like this. I would be more than happy to make a donation -- just need the address or paypal info

Best Wishes to all those that were directly affected (and the rest of you too!!)
Better times are on the way

Can someone start a poll of what Mav/Comet owners have donated? I think it would be cool to be able to say "My friend and I donated $XXX to Katrina survirors.

I live 45 mins from the Astrodome, and my wife and I cleaned out our attic and closets and headed out there Saturday. Well over $500 worth of sheets, blankets, clothes and shoes, and about 60 new Oral-B toothbrushes. Left a large beer cooler (empty of course) and some luggage. Basically anything we could have sold at a garage sale went into the Dome.

It was really amazing how many people are just standing around looking for somthing to do. I think they estimate 20,000 just in the Dome and the Reliant center alone... I would offer living space, but I live in a small and quiant home out in the boonies...
