you could be right on the speedo cluster, but my 76 is a "made for export model" made in Canada and delivered at Centroplex Ford in Ponce,PR...I am the second owner and never changed the instrument cluster...I have never notice or yet to see a 85mph speedo...anyway, thank you for the information, I did not know about the speedometer change in mavericks...that was the federal mandated law for US spec. motor vehicles and do not know if that applied to "export veh." had a 76 2dr Dodge Volare R/T 4speed,120mph speedo.,"export only" leaded fuel too...while stationed in Europe...

That's right. The thing that catches my eye though is the writing under the fuel gauge on hers. I've never seen the 120 gauges with that writing there.

I am sure it will, just push it off a cliff, a tall one!!:hide::outtahere:j/k!!

Hey, I'm learning as well! Love the Volare, didn't know you could get a 4 speed with one, what engine?? A guy my dad worked with back in the day bought one and once he got it home his wife said " I thought you said this was a Volare". He said 'it is'. Then why does it say Aspen??? He walked around to the passenger side and it had an Aspen badge. From day one!

I had that exact MEI radio in my 78 Ford F150. That radio is easy 20 years old. Too funny.

Mine does 118 with a 200! Of course, it takes about a mile going down hill with a tail wind, with the gas pedal on the floor to achieve that speed. :rofl2: It does get up to 105 pretty easily though on flat ground.

Some dude just stopped me in the walmart parkinglot (I was buying one of those cassette things to hook up a portable CD player) and he was like

"HOLY SH** IS THAT A MAVERICK?!?"
    "haha, yeah."
"D*MN THAT IS NICE!!!! AWESOME CONDITION"
"Thanks, it's my first car, I just got it."

and then he went on about stuff. :p I love my car.

It's great, ain't it? Wait till you start putting it in the shows this summer. You need to make plans on bring it to the Silver Springs show in January. I think we had like 16 Mavericks there this year. That was awesome! :)

Yea, you better get used to complete strangers coming up and talking your ear off about the car. :rofl2: It happens often with these cars.

I'm already used to it with my dogs and my tattoos, so I may as well have a car that gets people talking too. :p
