This morning I drove the car to school..Initially the pressure was around 62.On the way back after school after the engine warmed up the pressure dropped to 55 and it would go up to 60 when I was doing 65MPH
I went out earlier to check the oil level and it was at the "N" of Warranty

My 74 Maverick 250 holds 4½ quarts of oil. It always has and that's what the book says too. :)

According to my Chiltons manual a 250 uses 4.5 with filter 3.5 without filter.A 302 holds 5.0 with filter and 4.0 quarts without. So I guess I couldn't of overfilled it.

Thought I'd make a new post so this will show up for you. One thing to check for a running oil leak is the oil pressure switch. This is screwed in on the left side of the engine about 4" forward from the crankcase/transmission joint. It sets all by itself with one wire plugged into it. These can leak bunches of oil at road speed! It will run down the side of the block and drip from the back of the oil pan. You'll see if it's leaking as there will be a nice fresh oil slick from it! You can get this at Napa too! :)

That's the correct spot but that's the fittings & line installed to the oil pressure gauge, the sender(switch) has been removed... With no dirt on the side to the front, likely it is your leak(oil has washed away the dirt build up)...
