Oh Goodie Goodie Goodie ...next Thursday night I'd offer up some advice on breaking it in at the track but I'm sure Doc will keep you straight ....don't you break nothin before next Thursday.
Oh.... I always heard it called a compression test-didn't know that term. My Dad was a mechanic for 35 yrs. He always laughed when people mentioned 'seating' the rings. All his tech training said that they should be 'seated' when bolted together. Military equipment isn't evaluated in that manner. It is only test run to make sure it doesn't fly apart! John, is this motor hotter than the other? Seth
I hope not to break anything Doc is keeping me straight on all that I need to do....but I am always up for more input. I think Doc is going to try to make it to Drag night...NO CAR but come and watch. Still putting things together and what not. T&T Wednesday will be more of me cruising around the pits than anything else. I will make a pass or 2, but they will be soft. Thanks Rick.
"why don't you come set a spell" "why dont you come take a seat" Not only is he from Gawga....he is a grammar/english major too
Compression test and leak down test are 2 different things. Similiar in nature but the leak down test gives you a more accurate over all condition of the engine.
Glad to here you got it fired up and going hope t&t goes well, will see you all a week from today. AOD didn't work out had all the tranny stuff done Lenteck didn't get the valve body to us yet. We are going to put a tighter converter in it for now hoping to pick up 200-300 rpms cruising. All have a safe trip to round-up.
