Have a couple of Falcons, wich is close to a Maverick/Comet.
It has an auto trans. Would that be an AOD or AOD-E? You guys think that would fit in the maverick/comet/falcon trans tunnel without a big hammer?

93 would likely be an AODE

Its a 92 does that one year make a difference? Cars going to be daily driver if I can get fuel injection and overdrive swap to work. Engine has just 101,000 miles, so she's junk getting warmed up. Thanks again for all the info.

nice find. i have a 90 thunderbird with an 5.0 H.O and it is almost identical to the h.o in my 94 mustang. and i promise u that my mustang has WAY more power than the thunderbird. The intake and maf are slightly different. but not the upper intake plenum, just the plastic piece. either way, dump the auto and get a tremec tko or a t-5. aod's SUCK! JK!! i just dont like em..... and that motor has 215 hp 285tq. i'll bet my MAVERICKS on that

I'm betting the Falcon has the smaller trans tunnel like the '70 Mavericks. It's likely going to take a little "massaging" to get either a T5 or AOD in. The fuel injection shouldn't be too much of a problem, mainly need to look at the wiring diagrams for the car to figure it out. Good luck, and post some pics of it when you get it together!

I would love to go with a t-5, but the auto is what I have available. Its a cruiser so gas mileage is my main focus, especially at $3+ a gallon. Its being preped for paint so with all my ideas flying around in my head, it may never get put back together.
Thanks for all the info guys. This forum is great!
