star gazer: Not mine. Belongs (or I should say belonged) to Jason Miller. Car was totalled a few years ago in a car fire ........

So sad. I wanted to put up a picture to show how good a 4 door car look when done right. :)

Jason did a very nice job. Gives one pause when considering; 4 door, ain't worth diddly.
I was so struck at the looks, forgot to count the doors.
So, who's up to converting an Ice Blue 71 into....?
Local Cruize In this weekend I'm hoping to Late Register into. Will suggest the possibilities to anyone with a gleam in their eye. (Gotta keep the hope up).

That is one clean Comet, someone took really good care of her.
You mentioned a carb guy in Oregon, I lived in Portland for some 40+ years and used to "Drag The Gut" on Broadway back in the 60's....
I am not sure if they are still there but the shop was called Major Mureys and if memory serves me right it was going south on 11th just off Powell.
They worked on more than a few carb's for me and did great work at a resonable price.
Good luck with the Comet...............if it were mine, I'd keep it, with the low mileage I wouldn't take anything less than $1800.............the economy and car prices are still down in the dirt............but it is a great little car.

I learned a lot about the car at the Sherwood Cruize In.
The dash is perfect - a rarety.
Only one or two bubbles in the vinyl top = little rust. Only one rust spot in the driver door supports the value of garage life most of her years.
Still looking for The Right carb guy.
Dad sent me a list of repairs he had done over the last 10 years. Brakes, brake hoses, front end ball joints, tie rods, shocks, etc. Once I digest what has been done, will figure out what more is needed. Off hand thinking the forward control arm and sway bar bushings are shot - contribute to the R-R Crossing rattling.
I did talk with a fellow who had a Comet GT (?) wreck and offered his disc brakes and vacuum booster for The Cause. Is this a simple swap? Better brakes would make the car come alive. Or, better stated, "Make me feel better staying alive."
