I actually had it that way when I first put EFI in my '77 back in 1992(got the parts from an '86 Grand Marquis)...and the problem was that the opening of the throttle body was about ΒΌ" from the master cylinder! Would not have been a problem if I didn't have power brakes. I ran it this way for awhile without any kind of air cleaner(not a good idea of course). I then got the fuel rail from an '88 T-bird so I could turn the upper intake around and the corner of the intake touched the brake booster..so I "massaged" the booster a bit with a hammer. :) Now I am running the Edelbrock upper and lower intake and a Hydroboost power brake system and everything fits pretty well. All except for the shock tower to firewall braces..I still need to figure out something for that. ;)

nice mill where'd ya get the......

:bouncy: Thats an oh so nice engine:bouncy: , where did you get tubular cross braces. Does a guy need the tower to tower brace, or just the tower to firewall. That is just so much cleaner looking than the o.e. flat stock. is it a funtional up grade, or just for looks? eitherwho they rock (other than ya can't set a wrench on em, ya thats a little "redneck" i know)

You don`t *need* the tower to tower brace but it does help the car to handle better by keeping the towers from flexing.

Gotta let the 6 cylinders have thier due. This is the Stallion's 250. Everything is stock, right down to the clunky smog equipment.

Mercurycruizers: what spark plug wires are you using. It looks as if you still have the small distributor cap. Plug wires are all that I need to complete under my hood. I have tried Accell blue wires for a small block ford and they are about six inches to long on each wire. they have straight end on the plug ends. They look like the should fit a big block ford. Got some Moroso and they had the wrong ends on the cap side. About to give up and make up a set although I have not had good luck with them.

Too darn many. Compared to my 77' Mav's 302, the Stallion's engine reminds me of Frankinstiens monster.:) It's also a pain to try to clean around all that stuff. The sad part is all that pollution crap still works. That engine only has around 36000 miles on it and it runs like brand new. Once we get the classic tags on the car, we were thinking about either doing away with all the smog junk or maybe dropping a 302 in the car. Then again, considering the cost of gas, we just might keep the 250 in there.
