hey thomas i was in the boneyard the other day and ran across a 65 66 mustang in there and was looking in the trunk.....i never reliezed the trunkflorr was actually the top of the gas tank. the fuel filler tube comes thru the back of the car just like the mavs too. maybe you can use it somehow in your mav.....just a little info.
I cut the trunk floor out to make it easier to get the rear end in and straight. I plan on making the tank the trunk floor and much wider than the stock tank since I don't have to make clearence for the exhaust on the sides My filler has been moved from the rear to the drivers side using 89 fuel door and neck. NO MORE SPILLING FUEL :bananaman I should be able to put the gas station nozzle in the neck and clean the windows like a new car until it shuts off. BTW even the early mavericks did that, gas tank trunk floor.
WOW!!!!!!!!!! Aint that exhaust a little low? hate to see it munched when the suspension moves up on a bump, but man is this gonna be a radical ride or what!!!!!!!!! Hats off to you be being so creative and motivated. Hey, look at the diff this way. It's just outta a British Ford. After all, Ford owns Jag.
You would think that it would hit but, if you look at most of the IRS cars they are all kinda low. For that area to drag would mean both wheels have to bottom out. No dukes of hazards here.............
Hey Tom, About the ground effects between the wheel wheels, did you fab them or did they come off another car? Been wanting to try that also, just can't find one that fits.
Here's an idea. Since you can obviously get the tires to tuck under the fender, why not go with a pro touring style. Tuck some 20's under the rear, 18's on the front. That would really put the Mav in the mags. Just imagine your mav with this kind of attention. (see picture) I think your car is just as impressive as Troys FFFB.
here I thought 17's and 18's on a car that came with 14's stock was pro-touring style?....... not trying to stir up things but.... am I missing something
Alright 20's and 18's might be a little extreme. Personally I feel there is a ratio of tire:wheel:car that cannot be exceeded before it starts to look a little strange. The FFFB IMHO has exceeded that ratio. But I do think a little taller tire/wheel comb would really set it off.
Tammy's car has 17's and this car has 17's with 245/40 fronts and 275/40 rears. I didn't want to go bigger because I want to drive this car also. With the combonation of short wheel base, low profile tires, stiff springs and firm shocks Tammy's car rides a little rough. I hoping with the jag stuff it will ride a little better I feel with the bigger wheels the springs will have to be softer and possably have to worry about bottoming out.
Darn.....I was checkin old threads for this one in hopes that the pics were still there. Nope. It was sweet though.
