    OK, I knew I sandblasted a "MAV". After 20 minutes of looking, I found it on the rear shock support of my 1972 Maverick.

    Nice! Are those factory shock plates? That one looks pretty pristine.

    Now that you mention it, I got these parts from someone on the forum (mustangstore@comcast.net). So maybe its was stamped by them and not stock from a 1972. It was definitely used, but blasted and painted, anything looks new!

    I have never seen them stamped like that before.

    Yep, and that "L" is crooked. It must have been stamped by the seller. And I thought I finally found something, but way too easy!

    I have seen similar stampings on '73 bumper brackets.

    My original plates only had "R" stamped on the one plate. No "MAV", no "L".
