One thing that should be taken into consideration is that there is a shortage of carbon fiber! This may be a factor in the price.

Id like to see an a pillar gauge pod and mirrors. I also like the spoiler that Seth posted.

since you already sell a grabber spoiler for small bumper cars it seems pretty logical to produce 1/4 extensions for the big bumpered cars too.

the sport mirrors are also a very good idea since alot of other fords can use them. it wouldnt be a maverick-exclusive market.

i'd also like to see a really bad @$$ lookin front valance. alot of people are in the market for these anyway

    good luck

Let's put it this way, when I drove that car out of Terry's back yard, we had serious concerns about the entire rear axel falling out. The trunk floor does not exist. You see the TOP side of the rear frame rails when you open the trunk, what metal is left is just a solid sheet of crumbleing rust. The entire floor pan inside the car is a solid sheet of crumbleing rust. I drove this car from Terry's, all the way up to NC (and a buddy of mine drove it daily for a few weeks until he could find another car). By time I got to NC, the bench seat had broke through the rust, and the transmission tunnel and some other rust was all that was keeping it from falling out on the ground. I had serious concerns about the front frame rails trying to detach from the body because of how much rust is in the torque boxs and front floor boards. The pillars on either side of the windshield are rusted through from the inside out, both inside and outside of the car. The roof is rusted through in various places from the inside out. The small hole you see in that pic was just the beginning. The quarter panel is made out of bondo and paint, you can put your foot through it half way up the side of the car. I don't know why this car is so rusty, but it is by far the worst I have ever seen. Strangely enough, it was the nicest driving Maverick I have drove so far. The thing would just float right on down the road, smooth as can be.

The way Jamie described it is the way I brought home - 2 years earlier. The drive train, A/C, power brakes, hood, and sheet metal in the engine bay was all good. Made no sense the rest of the car was the way it was.:hmmm:

hum? well i don't think i can do the remote thats for sure... but they want $119 for the set. and $114 for the non remotes. most of this repo stuff these mustang guys do are made like crap too... so i might still try to do this in CF.... not to sure on cost though... let me see what this is going to take and i will go from there. either way i gotta wait to ray sends me these things.

anyone see these in person? are they crap? just wondering.

Derrick, look at those links again. I believe those prices are EACH. Look at the related parts section under each mirror.

They are $132 at Year One.

Maybe Dan or Jamie can check them out.

The Mustang mirrors are NOT the same as the Maverick ones. At least the bases are different. I didn't realize that till I one day when my son broke the base on his rt side mirror on the red Grabber. I took one off the shelf that came off a 70 Mustang, stripped it, painted it, and installed it. And I still didn't realize it was different until I was driving it one day and I looked in it and noticed the mirror sitting at an angle. I then realized the base was different. I believe there are a few other cars that use the same mirror but I'm betting the bases are different on them too.

Many cars use the "top" part of the sport mirror, and they are all the same. I have tried the base off of many cars, though, and have never found one that fit a Maverick like an original does. I think the bases are Maverick specific.

I'll see about stopping by Mustangs Unlimited tomorrow to check out the mirrors they have. If they will allow, I will test fit it on the Maverick and possibly take pictures.

Calling Ralph Price... are you working tomorrow afternoon? :)

I wonder how a c/f interior door trim panel would look...and possibly rear qtr trim. Seems like it might be easy enough to make. :hmmm:

It is true that all the 'bullets' are the same on Fords sport mirrors, but the bases are model (and even year) specific.

If you were to make the mirror as an exact copy of the Maverick version, and not install the mirror, a person could go to the yard and pick up the guts.
In other words, you can retrofit a remote mirror into any housing. Remote or not, the guts mount the same.
The 'bullet' portion came on many 70s land yachts and grocery getters.

I say you just build a CF housing and base, and I'll provide my own remote guts for both sides. Find a 78ish LTD and be done with it... dual remotes.
The only thing is the non-remote stock housings don't have the hole drilled in the pedestal for the cable to run through.
Cast a hole in it and it's golden, or the buyer can drill a hole.

Edit: I might have to check my facts!
I started a passenger remote project on my 75, but the bullet was bent so I replaced the whole bullet with a remote bullet.
I am rethinking my statement about the mounting being the same. I did it about 2 years ago. After making this post I started to question myself.
I am pretty sure it's true, but I will have to compare the bullets side by side.
I am trying to remember where the cable mounts in the bullet and am drawing a blank.
