I am not sure what is a good price. I probably paid too much for mine but as it has been said, their worth what your willing to pay! I would do it again and will if I find a Stallion pinto or mustang and the wife isn't home to stop me!! Jerry
Ok, I went back tonight to pick up my mustang parts and took some pics of the Stallion. He indicated that the mileage was original. The lighting was bad, so most of these pics were taken in semi-darkness. It is a 302 automatic, bench seat with A/C. The pics speak for themselves as far as rust goes. He said his dad parked the car quite a few years ago, and it has been in out of the rain/weather in a garage. I have decided that it is beyond what I want to deal with at this point. If anyone has an interest I will post the guys email address. I don't want to break any forum rules as far as solicitation goes, so help me out with the rules if needed. The car is located near Chattanooga, TN. Terry
Maybe I need to post that I gain nothing from this. I love cars and would like to see this car go to someone that would appreciate it.
Now having seen the pictures, I would say the car will need a total restoration. It will need paint and body work. All the driveline components will need to be gone through from sitting for so long. All the brakes will need to be gone through. The AC probably no longer holds a charge, so it will need to be gone through as well. Having said that, I feel the price he is asking is a fair price for a Maverick in that condition, let alone a Stallion. When completed, one would probably have more money in the car than what it is worth, but a Maverick person probably wouldn't care about that.
What I see from the pix is the car is worth $2K, esp., if it has a servicable drivtrain. I don't see much rust on the underside frm the one pix of that area. I also feel the car probably will need a total restoration. As far as, spending more money on these cars than they're worth is probably the case w/ 90% of those on this forum.
