I did some price checking on the disposable cameras today, didn't think to get prices for the digital ones though. I don't know about elsewhere, but at the local Wal-Mart the disposables are only $4.88 (plus tax). Walgreens and Eckerd's were both around $13. Wal-Mart seems to be the way to go, if you want to use the regular disposables.

Russ, sounds like a great idea! As it has been mentioned, it would great to get some magazine's attention.

I am just outside of Canton, Ohio so may help make another connection here.

    Sponsorship

This thing might get bigger if you seek sponsorship from someone like Walmart, they would suppy the cameras and the locations for meeting. That way we get the cameras and meeting sites and they get a little adverisiting along the way. We all know how Walmart is about getting their name into stuff. Just thought I would throw that in. Keep me in line for the camera route, located just off of I-10 in Louisiana just east of Baton Rouge. Remember the ole rule, you don't get ANY, if you don't ask for ANY !!!!

It looks like it is off to a pretty good start!

Russ, that map is a cool idea! Once you get this thing going will you be able to connect the dots per say to show the status of the trip?

As you can see from the map we have some BIG holes to fill. I'll start checking the MCCI roster to see if anyone is in those areas, but not on line, who might be interested.
I like the Wal-Mart idea, and I was also thinking about talking to AAA to see if they would sponser the event and give road side assistance to non AAA members, just for the trip.
Alot of guys cars are in a state of restoration so, I was thinking that April 17 2004 would be the 35th anniversary of the intoduction of Maverick and that might be a good kick of date. If we can get the holes filled, I'll start on planing a trip route.
What I would like to do is find the folks that are the closest together, and let them exchange info and let them plan their part of the trip between themselves. Russ

    what a thought

:bananaman :bananaman Russ..just taking up space but I had to say COOL BRAINWAVE again, that start date is great....sponsors also could be Ford/Mercury dealerships...with car sales as they are now, any publicity would be good for them, they have shops and all........maybe no parts, but shops......Robert:clap:
p.s. that run to Canada looks tough right now, also Cali:D

Being from south west florida I would love to go to mile marker zero of US1 in Key West and take a pic of my Maverick in front of Sloppy Joe's (earnest Hemmingway's old hang-out). Hey! how about we try to arrange these meeting places at cool places like that all over our great country? Bob :p

Great idea on sponserships, as I think that would go really well.

Perhaps we should contact all the major car magazines when we have more official info, and see if we can get a major magazine to sponser us/write up a full article on this, could get us some major national attention!!

Perhaps we could come up with a complete list of all the major car magazines that we may want to contact?
