the flake is like i said is.005.it looks big but its really not.i did put a tablespoon of crushed glass in the last coat .050.thats what gives it that POP!!!after i sprayed the last coat i did the gold leaf and then put a gallon of clear over it.i did some extra parts and only put one coat of clear on them and it covered fine.with the flake being so small it lays down really flat, unlike standerd {big daddy ross}flake which is .025.

the thing about the rattel can paint that you get from the paint store is its laquar paint.or single stage enamel that they thin out BIG TIME.i have done some touch ups and small parts with them and they can look good but without any hardener they will never hold up as well.you also cant get them to put big enough flake in them to make it look really good imo.good luck.

I use "paint with pearl" products also. realatively cheap compared to many others. I do have some big daddy roth flake that is .004. It is suprising how much sparkle you get from such small flakes.

Like I said earlier, they can not put the hardener in the rattle can because it is a chemical reaction and it would set up in the can. So what you are getting is something like American Opel is talking about.

    Just another :2cents:

I'm just getting done with a mustang for a guy. It is a 98 and painted the original Atlantic blue but I put some of that paint with pearl .004 flake in an intercoat clear. In street lights and direct sun it really dances. I tried to get a pic to show up but I don't know how well you will able to tell. It does not have the amount of flake that american opel has on his car, we were just after a littlextra bling to the stock color. I tried to show a shot without a flash and you can see individual flakes and then with the flash it shows how grainy it makes it. And before anyone says it he has or is getting new chrome 18X9 wheels and he is going to lower it a little.
