It don't matter. I've always owned a Mustang. I like them. But then I like cars, all kinds. I've always wanted a Maverick or Comet. I like them cause they are different and look great. I'm a Ford guy 1st but I like any car that is done well. Bottom line is .........a jerk is a jerk and it don't matter what they drive or want to drive.
I have always taken far more pride in what I can accomplish personally, far more than anything that I have ever bought. In looking at your car, I get that you get that too. If he is driving a clapped out car and looking down at yours that has so much more quality time and sweat equity in it, that guy has very little vision, sense of reality, and spends too much time buying his own hype. What struck me the most about your statement is that I have run into exactly the same attitude when it comes to a whole area that is pretty far off-topic. ... don't want to go into it .... burns me up, but it is the same theme.
My neighbor is a huge mustang guy. Everytime I'm outside working on mine he'll come over and start trash talking my Mav. He just sold his 86 convertable mustang 5.0. He stands there talking trash about my car but the paint on his looked like it was put on with a roller. I agree there are douches in every area of life. I like my Mav and I don't really care what others think of it (unless I'm laying under it trying to put hedders on and you come over and start trash talking, Thats a quick way to get a hedder upside your head.) As soon as its rolling I'm driving it, and if it breaks, I'll fix it and drive it some more.
Never had problems with mustang guys, except the one time I took the car to a specialized mustang shop, at the time I didn't know jack about mechanics of the car (or any car) and the owner of the shop, though he liked my car, told me it was a waste to spend time and money on a maverick because no matter how nice the car was it would never reach the price tag of an equally nice mustang. I told him i had no interest on selling my car so the price on it was not an issue to me. I think that, though i found his comment rude, his attitude was what annoyed me. The "if-it's-not-a-mustang-it's-worthless" attitude, really grinds me gears!
