I gasket matched my heads on the intake and exhaust side, plus matched the intake manifold as well. Smooth out all the roughness on the inside of the port to reduce turbulence, letting the air flow more freely. Mine were an experiment, and I have been pleasantly surprised, still trying to tune the carb and ignition though. do a basice valve job, and change the seals.

On the other hand, will the e7 roller heads work on a flat tappet block? Probably have to change the springs

asuming that these heads are fine, what do i need to do to put the on
    I guess i would
    take the old heads off
put new gaskets and sealent on and the bolt on the new heads.
    then retime the motor.

I havent got a new carb or intake yet.

1-gears.Best bang for the buck.going from 2.79-3.55,expect to drop about 3 tenths.
    2-4bbl.Go w/a 600 or maybe a bit smaller and a dual plane intake.Drop another1-2 tenths(maybe)
3-headers.Or at least dual exhaust.Get the cheapest long tubes you can get, with no more motor than you got there's no use in a high $$ set of comp. headers.2" or 2.25" duals should be fine.
    4-a stall converter.2000 should work well,especially w/3.55 gears.
Since you got a cam already the headers/carb may help more.

    Personally,I would go with the following mods in this order;
    gears(3.55 or 3.80)
    stall-2000-2500
    4 bbl carb/intake
    headers

Maybe you should get a tachometer and rev in on the redline.....A free flowing tuned exhaust, properly tuned carb and ignition, topped off with a nice air induction stystem should be all you need.

I am just gonna get some flowteck Afterburners with new piping and cutouts

Carb? I have been looking at this guys Demon right now its a 600CFM
the carb is priced decently for the carb but still outta my range

Intake, Edelbrock Victor Junior is for sale in the paper for like $150.

Still need that Trani Overhaul tho

I used to have a 73 Mav with an 88 roller 5.0 converted to carb using edelbrock intake and performer 600. Had longtube headers and Cherry Bomb mufflers. Also had a 3.55 T-lock installed and a C4 with a shift kit. I took it up to Commerce Atlanta Dragway when I first moved to Georgia and it ran a 14.8 ... not bad for a basically stock 88 roller motor and I had never been on a race track before.

well do you have any parts that you would be willing to sell. that may just be sitting around.

This stuff is sending my girlfriend thru the roof because i talk and work on cars more than i talk about things she knows about. I think its kinda funny.

take your time and enjoy the time you spent working on your car...(y)

Looks like your going the right direction (y) .

Like the others have mentioned...put some 3:55's or 3:73's in the rear.

It will run so well, it will make you want to punt kick a baby in a hospital gown :D . (sorry, just had to say it)

I have a 750 Holley Vac Secondary carb Id let go... 3 of them matter of fact
One of them has the choke horn removed completely.
other has a choke on it IIRC

I can set you up with dual metering blocks and duel feed also with this carb.

I also recommend gears, but your looking for a carb and I'd let it go pretty cheap. It was rebuilt and sat on the shelf so it should be good to go.

    Let me know.
