if there isnt a hole in the hood already, put in a longer carb stud, long enough that it hits the hood, then close the hood on it so it dents it.Drill a hole in the spot set the scoop on the hood with a stud through it and through the hood and draw your outline the figure out the extra space you'll need to open and close the hood.
Hey ,i cut a 71 grabber hood ,and not just a hole ,22 inches wide by the length of the hood front to back for cowl induction . It turned out allright .My opinion ,its your hood and you have more than one ,do what you want with it,its your car . My suggestion place the hood on your car and then place the butterfly scoop on it in the correct place ,see how it looks .Jimmy
I've got two stock hoods, take your pick, one or both, for a good Grabber hood. I'm a lot closer than Ray, too! Then I'd have a spare!
The last two shows I put my blue car in, I wound up just leaving my hood closed. I got tired of people asking me to close it so they could take pics. Or maybe they were just telling me I need to clean my engine up. Hmmm
been lazy. got to mount the base. just havent got the airfilter yet. on the base its only an inch higher than this. only half of the butterflies will be out of the hood. got it cut. after i get the filter so i can mount it ill check the fit. should be right on though
