My project progress

been trying to put some miles on the setup and get the bugs worked out before i spray the paint

 

Well,Paint is on hold motor is going to have to come back out having some oil consumption issues may change a few things as well while in in there agian

 

that sucks. is it just burning it or is it going somewhere?

 

oil rings on 5,6,8 cyls appear to be stuck in the grooves.Ive tried every home brewed and a few non conventional methods to get them free but it isnt happening.I hate to pull the motor it runs so well even with it burning oil.

yeah today and tommorow, got the motor torn down oil rings are shot.

but on a nice note it does have forged TRW's in it.Guess the van motor wasnt a van motor after all

on a side note the engine bay is nasty from the sanding dust and high pollen counts.gonna clean it all back up when I get the motor back together.

got the long block back together today,just got to get the headers and the upper intake back on

 

Awesome!! I know what a pain it is to remove those heads while the engine is in the car. What did you do about the rings? replace them?

 

yes,went ahead and honed the cyl's to knock off any glaze and put new rings to fix the problem and rod bearings as a precaution.everything else looked great.

Very few people can do what you've done. Awesome work!! I can't wait to see the car when it's done for that very short period of time before you decide to do something more to it.
