might ditch the AC since it doesn't work and I don't use it. No sense in putting money in that. How hard is it to ditch the AC

Ford was already using harden valve seats in '72 for unleaded gas. If you want bigger valves and larger intake log go with a '77 or later head. You may want to invest in the Ford Falcon Six Cylinder Performance Handbook by David and Dennis Schjeldahl. When I added the Duraspark II... I could feel a little bit more performance

Already have the book buddy. I didn't know that they had unleaded gas by then. But my block and head are 68/69 so I still want a later head

Was the DSII had to install? I was considering that huge DUI from classic inlines. It sounds good on paper. But that price...

It was a piece of cake. Don't let all of the wires scare you...most of then plug into theirself. I ran a switched 12v to the box and a wire from the box to the coil. I think the reason people think that a DUI is good is because they replaced a 40 year old dist with a new dist. You can buy a rebuilt DSII and be in the same boat as a new DUI and your dist won't be as big as a Holley 4 bbl. The DUI is a bad design with the coil in the cap. Here is a (long) read about how bad the DUI is http://www.ifsja.org/forums/vb/showthread.php?t=19440

right now I have a 2 bbl with an adapter. I'm looking for a late model head as well and will get that machined. I also have a pertronix unit in it but I think I just want a better distributor like a DSII

Pertronix is nice to replace points but a new/rebuilt distributor is a must. Might as well go DSII when you buy. Here is a short video of a 38 year old distributor. Makes you wonder how accurate the timing really was.

    don't get any better...for a low compression motor...(y)
the more you do the less gas mileage...those horses have to eat something

for the money I would build a 250 w/C4 and then just drop it in...JMO
inline 6 cyl... power and gas mileage...:hmmm:

I have to agree with Frank on this one. I think the amount of money it will take to do what you want will gain you very, very little.
