As much as I think this would be awesome, I highly doubt that many would be sold, it all goes back to that "Cheap" thing again, most people have Mavericks/Comets because they were cheap, cheap to buy, cheap to fix, and alot cheaper than a decent Mustang or Camaro. People bicker and complain about cars that are posted for sale around $2000, Jamie can't find a buyer for his California 69.5 Maverick, and he only wants $1000!!!
Replacement panels are where it's at, we need floors, wheel houses, rear frame rails, front inner fender aprons, front frame rails, valances, tail light panels, door skins, fenders, and others. That would save a car from going to the crusher.
Joe is doing an awesome job, the parts he's making are things that the big parts guys said would never be made, love him or hate him, and I give him alot of credit for doing it.

The fact that Mavericks and Comets are the best looking cars ever made is reason enough to make it. :thumbs2:

Sound like a great idea to me. The Maverick is a really great looking car. It's not ridiculously big or tanklike, it's light and maneuverable. I think this would help revitalize the popularity and perhaps reputation of the maverick. I for one plan to always own a daily driver maverick. It'd make it a lot easier to build from the ground up (I plan to attempt this in the future) with something like a body shell available. Plus then it'd be almost simple to put anything modern you wanted into it. If it does turn out to be around $6,000 that seems fair. So to end my rambling, Yes. It's a good idea.

Depending on price and over all quality I would buy one. However I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for one either.

I for one would love to see it come true! Not all maverick/comet owners are poor or cheap some like myself and others have plenty of time, money and knowledge to build what we want. I restore cars for a living and I can tell you the huge benefits to starting with a rust free shell. And really how many are left. And Stefan is dead on about leading to more interest and more parts lets be real here how many guys would build a Maverick over a Mustang only everyone one this forum especially ME !!!!!!!!!!!

At the average price of $12,000 for just a shell only.....I would say NONE would sell.

Considering, when you could buy an almost rust free car for half that price.
