Its cool t.l. I am a lazy 17 year old. I couldnt be bothered to polish them up. Plus I wanted a 15 inch wheel in back.

Ill get a picture close up of the wheels. I didnt opt for the center caps cuz im cheap. Hopefully a clear picture comes out im not keen on these digital cameras.

I think they look great. Nice choice. If T.L. doesn't like them, too bad. It's YOUR car, not his!!!

I'm a slot man myself ... But chrome rims, as long as they don't have super-low profile tires, look good on any Mav ..... I'm sure somebody was offended with this post! :)

Two 1973 LDO Mavericks (one 4 Drag one 4 driving like Mad on the roads :) ) also have a 75 6cyl Stock! Ok, well sort of Stock :P
dude i like it.. my buddies run those wheels on their 4x4 trucks... i like the slots too... remember i had them too!

but i can understand your resoning for changing them.. one and bottom line they are new! they make the car look newer and better IMO.

TL is correct in everything he said about rust and weight. However to me the old slots (mag wheels) are right to the time period of the car but personally i think they are way out of date! (go ahead someone reem me, but tell me it ain't true :D ) if you going for that old school looks then yeah go for it. but being 17 years old as you are i see a little update is nice.. i understand totally!

as for polishing those old slots.. yeah they would look way cool somehting i wanted to do when i was your age, but i coundn't afford it on my 65 dollar pay check a week.. becuase avg place (and not your friends, buddys, moms cousin, sister business who will do it for 10 bucks a wheels around the corner place etiher) would charge you more to polish them then it cost you to buy those rims. and trust me all my rims are polished and keeping polished rims clean, is a big pain in the you know what! chome rims you can just wipe right off! its a give and take!

and another peice of mind for you is i don't think you will see any decent magazine featuring a car with those sloted rims on them polished or not. maybe a classic drag car, but other then that i don't recall seeing one but a 70's van in the last 10 years in a mag with those sloted wheels.

yes there are fads and trends but there are also styles that stay a life time. remember directional wheels in the 80's painted bumpers and neon paint or even clothes like bell bottoms and platform shoes FAD! Torque Thrust Wheels (infact any 5 spoke rim), Fire Engine Red Paint, Levi 501s white tennis shoes a Lifetime look! and yeah thats right, i have rubber band 35 series tires on my car (;) dmhines just pulling your chain!) fad? maybe yes maybe no? but you know what? right now that is the trend and that is what it takes to get noticed! and i know you wanna get noticed by all the chicks ;) ! the wheels look great!

and your right about the 15s' i mean what car comes with 14's on it these days? bottom of the like sentras and corollas even have 15's again the sign of the times! you have more tire choice with the 15 too!

now slam the hell out of the car lol! ;)

all i have to say... change or be your father who never wants the change! :D :p

ok i know i made you feel better but now who got pissed off :D

I had those on my bronco II, first set of wheels I ever bought, made the mistake of running them through the winter and completely destroyed them, rain didn't seem to hurt much, but salt does, but I doubt you'll be driving that car once the snow starts flying, I know mine's getting parked for the winter and the hopefully the repower will be my winter project

    Looks good Todd.
I know you worked hard all summer, get used to that. It only gets worse.
TL was only sharing his opinion and as you get older and wiser you will see
that it is an everyday thing to have differences of opinions. Think of it this way, If everybody liked the same look this hobby would be bland as hell. I like polished slots too:D but I have the crager ss on mine. Be advised keep em clean or like others have said you will be hatin life in about three years. Your car has turned out really good, keep on mavericking man(y)

Black or white, it doesn't matter as long as they are the Converse high tops! Some shoes never go out of style! (y) :D ;)

I guess you did, T.L. I just have a short attention span and your post was kind of long, so...

    My mistake.

Check out this sweet wheel & tire combo, though. I hate to show up Todd in his own thread, but I can't help it. I'm pretty proud of this setup.

this whole lifestyle is about being different
I kinda like my stock hub caps with the purple ring on the outside, I just simply scrubbed the paint off aznd shined them up a bit, looks 100x better than stock, didn't cost a dime
