that could be possible. I want to take the other part off so I don't have to kill my self trying to soder the other wire on. are you typing on a phone??
as for what you were saying before that, the clip must have been off long before I got the car because there's no clip on the bolt or the black box anymore. I wish I had a working camera to show you what I'm working with right now.

i just borrowed a camera off my neighbor so I can show you guys what I'm talking about for the fuse box and the condition of the wire (which I believe is sufficient to carry power)

In your third pic you are showing that your fuse link is burned out! :)

is it? like I said I've never had to deal with one, but I thought they burned a little more than that. also, was the hole I tested on the one further down there to test the line?

I'll get that back together and try, but I need to finish the other wire. can you tell what I need to do to get the fuse box plug off? that guy said there's a clip but I don't see it.

Yeah but now that I see the fusible link Im thinking MAYBE a wire got pinched when the box was reinstalled and hooking up the battery fried the link.

bumping this thread and hopefully I can get this resolved here...
i get no power to the fuse box (thick yellow wire).
I replaced both fusible links on that yellow wire that powers the fuse box, but I still measure 0 volts at the plug end on the firewall. And before you think my wiring is bad, I tested it just after my splice and I have under 13 volts.
I just checked a wiring diagram and there's no more fusible links on that line.

edit: just went looking some more and the plug to the regulator is has yet ANOTHER BS rig job. red wire came apart and the yellow wire it's crimped with is messed up. I bet this has something to do with it. anyone know what that small canister thing is on the shock tower? is that a capacitor?

its a capacitor, its purpose is to filter engine noise oit of the electrical system for your radio. If you have a modern radio you don't need it.
