I can attest to that though it was on a 71 F100. My dad bought my 71 F100 new. When I was about 20 and living on base on Randolph AFB Texas, since my wife and I were both active duty, some bratty a&&ed kid tossed a rock onto the hood of my truck. People saw them do it and I was paid to get it fixed. Took it too the body shop and while repairing the small amount of damage they found 2 other spots on the hood with Bondo in them.
I called my dad and he told me for a fact that the truck had never had any damage or wrecks before I acquired it. I had one wreck where somebody tried to pass me and clipped the left fender and bumper but never toughed the hood so I know that the truck was delivered to my dad from the factory or dealer with 2 spots of bondo in the hood.
So it might have come that way from the dealer.
I would fix it and drive the heck out of it myself
