odd question

ok here is a very trivial, trivia question. The ash tray has a slot to hold a cigarette, what is the little hole next to it for? Was thinking maybe a match in case it didn't have the optional lighter?

ah ha, I wouldn't have guessed that!

 

The hole is so the hot embers drop in and not fall out on the carpet!

 

That makes sense. I can just picture the design review meeting in a smoke filled room on that!

 

You could stick the cigarette in the little slot to hold it.
