We use the GR-1 190. It has a setting specifically for AGM batteries. It seems to work well but I doubt ours has the ability to recover a deeply discharged AGM without condemning it as a bad battery(the test function is built in to the charge mode). We are supposed to be getting one of the newer ones soon, as they are required for warranty purposes.

Finally got it all back in (broke a battery connector when reassembling). Started right up right out of the box. Letting it run for a while, to get the oil recirculated and shore up the charge.

The pulsating DC output is usually connected to a large capacitor to smooth the output. There may be a small amount of ripple present but not a "pulse".

You poor bastards. Hope its not like ours. Pays .2 for a warranty battery. This thing will try to charge a battery for up to 180 minutes before it will test it for warranty. So we have to tie the car and possible a bay up for 3 hours on the chance we might get .2 hours labor IF it fails the battery. If it passes your screwed. No pay for anyone. When it fails we have to connect our wireless pod to the car. Go onto the desktop and enter a code from the tester into Dealer connect. It then gives us a WARRANTY code for the work order. All for a big .2:rolleyes: Should have been a plumber......

Yep, that's the program. It sux too. The longest I have let it run is about an hour, and they won't pay the claim without a valid code tied to the RO.

:yup: I don't know about being a plumber(other people's crap and all that) but I sure do wish that I had stayed in school a little longer and maybe paid a little more attention in economics!

Some chargers won't trigger on with the optimas.. you have to parallel another battery to trick the charger to turn on...

ahh working at a dealer.. glad that is over..more than half of the people I worked with are out.. I was done when the 6.0 powerstrokes were falling like flies and Ford wanted to pay chump change to work on those POS... just remember this makes me mad..lol..

Why'd they ever get rid of the 7.3? I had one for years and the only thing I did was to hotwire the glow plugs and get rid of that timer crap! That was a trouble free, durable engine for almost half a million miles! :thumbs2:

Same reason they get rid of all the good stuff. Consumer expectations, emissions, fuel economy. Also it keeps the designers and engineers employ'd. Drives me nuts at work.
Think were off topic now though. :16suspect My fault sorry Stephan.
