Me thinks 161 miles is highly unlikely. More pics....especially under the hood.

If it's 161 miles you have probably one of the best barn finds ever found.. Well besides the car i saw on barret jackson with 9 miles on it.

Two great finds it seems^...Awewsome comet by the way....Okay guys sorry it took me so long to get back with you...I'm a funeral director so sometimes I work odd hours and days...Today at lunch (if I get a lunch) I will go home and take some pictures and get the information for the registry....Also someone asked where I was from.....Graham North Carolina....I bought the car about 10 miles from Chapel Hill (home of the Tar heels)......I will deft update my Info.....I am some what wishing now I didn't purchase the car.....I wanted a car I could give my own touch to like comestic things...chin spoiler, rims, etc....but with this car being so original and in such great shape...I'm kinda of scared to do anything to it other than stock....What do you guys think?......................Oh yeah its a 3 speed on the column

these cars are worth more (both to the owner and to the public) when they're modified.

in my personal experience, i'd build it exactly the way you want it. it's not going to hurt the value of it, if anything it will actually help it and you'll also have it to your personal likeing... so i say build away :)

Around here....almost every Maverick you find has the towers torched out to lube the upper control arms. Check your towers to see if they are.

Cool find regardless of the miles. You definitely got your $500 worth.

I'd be interested in seeing a pic of the brake and gas pedal pads ... at 161 miles, they would look brand new.

Well im gonna go against everybody else..... You can go on craigslist or ebay and find tons of restomods but how often do you find a real nice original car.. Right now restomods may be more desirable at this time but you have to find the right person.. And in time originals will become more and more desirable..

I agree with the original approach, but that might just be my personal preference. I know that I will probably never buy a car that has been taken too far away from stock, just because I love the style of the eras past. Any new car can possess elements of a customized classic car with fancy rims and whatnot, but a new car will never have the same look and feel as an original classic.
