Got any pics of your setup? What headers did you use? Guys are asking on here all the time about off the shelf headers to use with the M2 swap...would LOVE to see what you did.

Running an engine with shorty headers will blow out valves??????
How do you blow out a valve? Does this mean burn a valve? Why would you burn a valve when running shorty headers? Why would a valve burn with no exhaust? It doesn't make the engine run hotter. The valves don't get hotter if you remove the exhaust. You won't get any scavanging but most of the "hot-rods" on the road run headers that are way too big anyway so that isn't a problem.
I have heard this old wives tale many times but no one has been able to explain the physics that would cause a valve to burn just removing the exhaust. If anyone can explain the physics on this please share with us. I don't often believe anything until I see the physics or real evidence of it.
I don't run an engine without exhaust on it because I don't like the noise or lack of performance or the fire hazzard or the tickets but I don't use the exhaust system to prevent the valves from burning.

Not to hijack but PaulS, you mentioned a lack of performance, do you mean low end torque/horsepower? I've always been told open headers give better top end but sacrifice power in the lower RPM range or "real world" horsepower. I was wondering about your thoughts on this.
