Well I pulled my wheel really quick and sprayed the thing down with WD-40. It's painted blue, but that chrome sticker doesn't have any writing or anything left on it. There's something stamped in the sheetmetal that reads "Edmund Fitzgerald", but that's about it...lol. I'm still chuckling about the "shipwreck" comment. There are no numbers visible at all on this thing.

Corbin...thanks. You don't have to bother scanning that.

I had the description of the mounting of this air horn wrong in my earlier post. The attached photo shows the three fasteners for it. The bracket bolts up there. I'm wondering if other cars have those three holes?

See, thats what happens when you make a definate statement. Just a minuite........ I got to get this dirt out of my mouth. I have my original owners manual and sure enough, it has that section in there too. My manual is 2 1/2" tall by about 11" wide. Alot different than yours. If I was you, I'd spend the money and get a report from Marti Autoworks. It will list all options ordered on the car. If the horn is listed Then you probably will have a very rare car just because of it. If it isnt listed, then the dealer probably installed it. If you get the report, make sure you ask him about the horn and ask for a breakdown of how many cars came with them. This could be more rare than the Shelby Maverick. Imagine that?

Those look like slot head screws ... If so I doubt it is factory. There isn't a single slot headed screw anywhere else on a Maverick ... or any other car for that matter. A factory kit should have atleast come with factory type bolts and hardware.

Technically, its not an air horn either. Marti Autoworks is the only way to tell for sure, that I know of.

I can't argue with the point about the slotted screws. It makes noise when you put power to it...but something in it sounds like it spins...maybe moves air kind of like a siren and makes noise? Is that an air horn? I don't know
