damm straight dennis...and for what that is worth, i always use my debit card just cuz it causes me pain and grief to see them struggle with making change...sometimes when the total is something like (example) $26.82 i'll give them $31.82 just to see how long it takes them to figure out they owe me 5 bucks! sorry to steer this thread in a different direction.:evilsmile

Well I worked at O'reillys for 2 years, had alot of regular customers who always ask for me. back then we still had our cataloge backup. Now they have taken most of the cataloges out. But I still gets my parts there cause they get a truck everyday and most parts are next day delivery... I still look up my own parts on the pc...Jim(y)

Hey Dan, I used to shop at Midnight Auto:evilsmile too, but I get a better warranty at AZ.
I worked for Pep Boys for 13 yrs, and I still say they have the WORST parts you can get. I'd rather shop Midnight again than to go back there for any mechanical parts. They do sell good :hmmm: ...,well, nothing, unless you need something for a 1 time temporary use. Ah yes, they do sell some brand name chemicles that one might could use, or a new shop t-shirt and some candy.:biglaugh:
You know, I figure that I became a decent Tech thanks to all the diagnosing I had to go through after installing there parts!

For me it's mainly O'Reillys.....but hey they started right here in Springfield Mo. back in 1957. we have a big warehouse here and they make runs to the stores every hour. As for the pimple faced kids that work there or at most parts stores that is all because of the lack of pay that these companys are willing to give~!

O'Reillys slogan our prices bring you in, our people bring you back(because they gave you the wrong part)

back about 10 years ago AZ came in like gang busters(guess they thought they could hurt O'Reillys here??) I think they built 10 stores ,there are only 4 left open(guess they were wrong)

I use a Bumper to Bumper warehouse up here because I can use a friends account. Since they are the midwest warehouse, they have almost everything. Unfortunately, O'Reilly just bought Midwest Auto Parts (Bumper to Bumper and Champion), so I don't know how long the good guy discount will last.

I use the other chains for little stuff. We don't have O'Reilly(yet), and Advance is rumored to come in, but we do have NAPA, AZ and Checker. NAPA has by far the most competant people, but their prices are the highest.

If it's not up on the hill amongst all my junk,I try to go Pioneer auto(a local store that actually carries "old" stuff.Otherwise,Advance is the closest(1 11 miles south,1 15 miles north).

I had a '63 scout one time and Napa always got parts for me for that old white elephant.
Talk about a big four cylinder had a 198, which was a cross sectioned 396. That was back in the mid eighties, when I was into four wheelers..
