hooker told me my spring towers might be bent, they are not, have the right motor mounts, the first tube needs to run higher to clear, midas made it better, butt hey still didn't do what I asked them to do, so it still hits. I think I'kk try heating the tube up and twisting it, they are already destroyed, and I now have 240 into my $140 headers

I bought mine off of ebay for $100. Someone had mounted them on a mav and didn't like the fit. He drove them enough to leave a little carbon inside, but the stock black paint was still on the outsides. He bottomed out flattening the bottoms in a couple places, and took a hammer to the pitman arm area, not really dimpling it, but just flattening a 1/2X2" section.

I assume he didn't like the fit, and ebayed them.

Mine just barely touch the right shock tower (but 3/4" clear on the other side  ), but no problems with the steering, and have a good 1/2-3/4" clearance. Again, though, I have power steering and bought the extra power steering drop bracket, but that just drops that powersteering hydraulic tube down an inch. I don't know how much different the geometry and linkages are on the manual steering cars.

The performance increase was well worth the hassle of installation and rubbing issues.

headers are not a perfect fit, something I've heard from more than one person trying to talk me out of them. The performance and milage increase is worth it if you're willing to make the effort.

Headers definately need to be fixed early on tho, after they cause problems, the benefits start losing their charm. Don't get jaded, get it right. This is suppose to be fun, right? Don't take it too seriously, just do your best and get it right, and smile when you smoke the tires...
