is it the threat of rain?

we are two days away from our first "Desert Maverick Meet" and everyone seems somber! I cant keep still about it. maybe i dont get out enough. anyway, i hope that even if everyone does not bring a car, that they will show up and we can have some discussion about the next meet. maybe come up with some idea's and throw out some different meeting spots.

I look forward to meeting all of you!
    Rick

Yes very shameless of you. Do you have another grabber hood for your car or are you going with a flat hood?

Adam if you need a flat hood in the meantime I have two. One is Brown with white grabber stripes and one is half primer half blue paint. You can borrow one if you want a hood until you get your new one, if you sell your graber hood of course. they are at my brothers house at 43rd ave and Cactus.

Adam, I think Rick mentioned that you needed a starter...I have one laying around if you want it. It came off my 250 motor but it's the same as a small block starter. I swapped it for a mini-starter for header clearance.

Thanks for the offer Gene but your correct, I running a t-5 and 157 tooth flywheel. I got starters laying around just not the right one. More importantly I don't think I even need a starter unless I fried it. I think I need to stop being in a rush, thats where I think a made a mistake. But need a little time to confirm what I think the problem is:cool:

Reference page four under the heading 'Carbon fiber for Arizonans' in the Maverick rule book.

From a racing standpoint, I'm not sure how much weight loss you really gain by going with fiberglass fenders. On my old Mustang it had a fiberglass tilt front end and by the time everything was stiffened up to support it, they might as well have been the steel ones. Not to mention, I couldn't open the front end alone because both sides of the fenders had to be pulled out beyond the doors to keep from scratching it. But that was just my experience with that one brand (and it was a very old front end...circa early 70's). I put lexan windows in that one as well and I don't think that I would ever do that again either because of the scratching issues (yes it was hardcoated material). I've opted to just make more power in the future and not sweat the small weight penalty. It's funner to do and less stressful when someone leans against your car! LOL
