Tony I just tried looking for some pics of your setup, I thought I seen some before, Just curious on your piping setup under the hood So not to get any further off track in the thread, but I see GCC swap meet is this weekend.................. Anyone going? I will probably be heading there about 8 am, if anyone wants to meet up maybe grab a cup of coffee or something before or after let me know. Now back to normal thread LOL
Lots going on this weekend. There is also the Severed in the Southwest Show at Metrocenter. Alot of lowriders (new and old), street rods, and rat rods. should be a good show. Im probably not going to the swap meet, went last month and didn't see anything i couldnt live without. Don't really have any projects going so nothing to look for. I'm going out on Sunday to fly R/C Airplanes with my brother and Dad at ASU west on Sunday.
What day is that car show on? Yeah I went last month too with the same results, hoping this month is different I got some stuff I'm looking for so I will give it a shot. R/C planes............ reminds me I need to rebuild me motor in my rc10gt, just another project that I have all the parts to finish just need the time. LOL
Show is on the 5th, Sunday also. should be mostly all day. No motor rebuilding on my planes, all electric brushless motors and lipo batteries. haven't messed around mith my nitro tmaxx since I got into planes last year. Would have more money for Maverick stuff if I could reduce the amount of hobbies
Cool thanks I met head over there if the little lady is interested, she loves rat rods. Yeah I here you, when I was picking up my stuff for my motor I was eye balling a sc10. Boy that was hard to resist LOL Had to keep telling my self no you already have enough projects, that one will be just as bad and you won't just leave it alone. LOL between guns, cars, quads, sand rails, r/c cars (my newest one), and concerts I don't ever have time or money anymore LOL. But the one who dies with most toys wins right
This is the thread that you probably remember... http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=69973 The only thing that has changed since then was that I had all the exhaust components from the headers to the downpipe ceramic coated. Once again...the cold side isn't done yet <bowing my head in shame>. But on the bright side the last few nights I have been working on the wiring for all the support equipment. Between the MSD digital 7 plus, the Zeitronics A/F device, the electric water pump, fuel pump, intercooler pump, fan, crank sensor, crutch pump and all the other devices this has been no small feat! I forgot about the GCC swap this weekend and I didn't know about the Metrocenter show (that's my old stomping grounds, I graduated from Moon Valley back at the dawn of time). My buddy wanted me to go to Firebird to race on Sunday. But I have to fly out for business on Sunday as well. My 20th anniversary is today (probably celebrating this weekend) and I'm not sure where I will end up for all these things. When it rains it pours! LOL
I just remembered that Surprise is having a car show as well on the 4th. Over by the baseball stadiums.
That means you plan on faster than mid 8's .....I have a friends car I tune on that went 6.69 @ 211 mph ....(Outlaw 10.5 record holder) We were proud as hell till Wolf kicked off with a 6.57 @ 222 mph on a radial with no wheelie bar in a turbo Fox .
I went to Moon Valley also, class of 97 though, seems like a while ago but not as far back as the dawn of time.
Class of 80 for me. I don't know if it was still there by 97, but we had a class in engine overhaul with Don Coldiron. I learned a ton from that and from the trial and error of other people in the class. Mr. Coldiron (engine overhaul), Mr. Roseberry (drafting and r/c plane enthusiast) and my neighbor a couple doors down from me were the biggest influences on my professional life to this day.
Mr. Coldiron was still there when I went. they just had a Basic Autos class available when I was a sophomore. the semester I took was the last class. We spent half the semester taking down the shop and packing stuff up to send to different schools. Mr. Coldiron helped me weld on my power steering drop bracket after it ripped out of the frame one morning. He was good guy.
I just noticed I missed Pong on my member list. Up to 36 Az. Members. Where the heck are they all hiding?
I ran into him at a swap meet about two years ago. He hadn't changed a bit other than being a bit older. He had retired and was happy as a clam. He was really upset that the school had gotten rid of all the industrial arts. I can't argue that at all. We seem to have a country filled with college graduates that cannot change there own tires anymore. That's why we don't seem to manufacture anything and everything is made in China. But enough about that.
I was wondering when the next GCC swap meet was going to be held? Are they every month? This weekend the wife is planning a yard sale on Saturday and we are doing a Toys for kids motorcycle run on Sunday. Next week, the 11th, is the car show at Don's Hot Rod Shop in Tucson. Lot's of nice cars and pretty laid back. Bring a toy and get a free meal also.
I think so during the winter months, then during summer months every other. I ussually notice them posted on craigs list in the autoparts for sale section.
