Air Ride would be awesome on a Maverick. I wish they made those Air Bars that would fit on the rear of a Maverick.

Not to pick on anyones Maverick, but wheel size choice has a lot to do with the theme of the rest of the car. If the paint is trick, the stance is right, and the extra add ons are chosen properly then large diameter wheels look great. If the idea was to keep the body looking period correct and the car sits up a bit higher then stay with 14-16" wheels. Personally, I tend to take all my cars over the top and bring a modern theme to them and go with the larger wheels. 18's all the way around, or the pic of the 18 front and 19 rears someone posted are really hot, IMO>

    Wheel - Tire combo

I voted for 17's because I like the look. Im open to any size combo that looks gud to car owner. I have 14*7, Mag 500's "in vry gud cdx" on mine cuz they came on the car. I recently bought new tires Firestone 225*70 rear _ 195*70 fr. I wanted 205's on the front but they rubbed the fenderwell. I suppose new springs wud have solved that. I can live w\ the 14's at least for now; Im not an aggressive driver. I also like the fact of having the extra sidewall rubber for a smoother ride. Also, since I bought the car July 09, I have some mechanical\safety issues of a greater priority, money wise, than wheels and tires.
Im sure you will eventually resolve ur dilema on which combo is best for you. :thumbs2:

Yeah i'd stick with 15's. I have 14's on mine and I like em but tire choice is kinda limited so i may get 15's when i decide its time. I wouldnt go over 16's I think thats the limit. all those mav pics with 17's or bigger are ugly and stupid looking. and remember the bigger you go the worse the ride will be, the more they will slow down your car, and will be negative on your braking.

NOUN - I'm in the same boat, those coopers are what i had on mine and a week ago when i needed new ones i couldnt find em anywhere. I know bfg makes that size still, but i dont much care for em myself., what i did was call around and ask every tire shop and i eventually found a hole-in-the wall place that still had cheapy 245/60/14's brand new for $40 apiece. ha. they were a lil stiff from being old but hey they work and look decent.

If those tires are old as you say, you are putting your life on the line. Check out this link. Is your life worth $40? I lost a tire this way and did $1000 damage to my hotrod and was lucky to keep it from flipping at 60mph
    URGENT - MUST KNOW

GO CHECK YOUR TIRES....and do it as soon as you finish watching this.
If you ever take the time to really read/watch a news report, this needs to be the one. I urge you all to take the time to look at this video on Tires and share with others.

There is a short commercial, but watch the news broadcast immediately following.
