    removing/installing trans in car.....

I always have to chuckle some when I hear about people saying it's a PITA to do it. Yes, it is...I agree, but when we first started racing my yellow mav eons ago, we went through at least 1 trans per race. I changed the trans in the car so many times I could have a c4 out and a spare put in, in just under an hour. And that's with removing the pass. header and loosening the driver's side with the engine still in the car. We actually started taking a C4 to the track with us and changed a few there between rounds. Ahhh...the good ol' days. I don't miss them one bit!

I bet we went through 30 c4's in the course of a season. Finally figured out how to build one, now we pull the one in dad's once a year for freshening and that's it. I went to a powerglide and freshen it once a year also.

Is this where I pull out my "It was the first time I ever pulled and re-installed a tranny?" card? :D

c-4's are a piece of cake. Rebuilt one of those bad boys and installed it myself when i was 16.
