Pulled the rear end

    You might find out the housing gasket wasn't leaking and the oil is from a leaking pinion seal.

    @rthomas - I thought that as well as the oil seemed to have a path maybe from that direction. I've since cleaned it and cannot verify though. Is this an easy seal to reach or does it require dismantling as well?


    Oil looked fine, I'll change the oil inside anyway but the rearend worked perfect before removal and doesnt make a peep so I'll leave it alone for now

    its very easy to damage the pinion bearings when changing the pinion seal. i have a basic procedure on my shops web site on what it entails
