There are several errors in your article. For example; cutting coils does not cause a loss in spring rate. If anything, spring rate is increased. The grammar could use quite a bit of cleaning up as well...
they dont sell shorter springs for the maverick...you can get shorter mustang springs, but like T.L. said you will pay for it... and besides... mustang springs aer for higher weight cars.. and they affect our cars differently
Anybody knows the original coil spring rate of a V8 Maverick, and by experience, what would be the recommended rate to use in a 351W car? For example, my SBC/68 Camaro came with 325lbs. fr. coil rate, and now after solid aluminum body bushings, fr & rr polyurethane suspension bushings, fr & rr lowered springs, & thicker fr sway bar, I'm using around 575. It feels great, but IMO the Camaro is a heavier car. I've used this rate calculator with good results, and want to plan & find parts ahead of time, for my Maverick's suspension upgrades. http://www.stockcarproducts.com/pstech10.htm
I got my springs from PST along with their poly graphite front end kit. The springs were around 95 bucks, dont quote me though, and it was supposed to restore "factory" height. Instead my car looked like something bob glidden would have drove and etc... I cut i think 2 coils off and still have room, but i like the stance now... haha bet my tires would have hooked up then!!!!
cuz shorter springs will still need to be cut. all they make are for mustang @ 1 inch drop... it won't lower it enough. once you put them in you'll see. exactly! "factory" height = that look. 1 inch drop = stock i thought you would try to find some error in there . i'm not a writer or english major.... anyways i take photos. but point taken, it was wurded rong. you get the point.. most people will i just wrote it cuz i was sick of posts like this along with the wheel offset question too many opinions... beisdes my way is always the right way
I didn't mean any insult or disrespect. I (we) appreciate all the help and insight you provide here. It's just that the article looks like 4th-grader wrote it. I know you are far more intelligent than that, and were probably in a big hurry when you wrote it....
