Short of installing a shift kit nothing will make your C4 shift quicker. I recommend the Trans-Go 40-2 kit for any 70+ C4 as the "goto" kit. It comes with directions that guide you through it step by step - it even lists the tools that you need to do the job. For those with more experience there are instructions on how to do it in the Tech Articles forum at the end of the thread "How to Hot Rod your C4". If you want more info on how to do it just email me at paulstephens(AT)q(DOT)com (with the symbols for the (AT) "@" and (DOT) ".")

A drill, sockets and ratchet, some end wrenches and a kit. You take the pan off, remove the valve body, follow directions. Install valve body, install pan, and follow directions to adjust the bands for the modified valve body. Keep the directions after you install it.

YEP! it's as easy as tuning up your car. If you can read and pay attention then you can do it. I would let my son do it and he can mess up a bycycle repair.
