The radiator was just dropped off on my porch. Thanks to maverick maniac for his generosity. It looks beautiful and was packaged perfectly. It actually looks newish...It's not green or anything.

Thanks to everyone who offered help and gave advice to me. Unfortunately this means I will have to go back to my hated job tomorrow...but at least I have my car back. Or at least I will in about an hour or two.

Gawd I hate my job. The thought of it actually diminishes the excitement of having my car back. It makes me upset and depresses me. FML.

Hey I'm glad to see you are gonna get the car back on the road(y).... My job sucks sometimes, but I wouldn't want to work anywhere else... I hope the economy turns around soon, that way you will be able to find something differant... Remember one thing though, you have a job :) some people right now are not so lucky....

The water in the engine froze...the lower hose is bulged and completely solid with ice.

I have a heater under the car and the front end covered to hold in the heat. In a few hours it should be thawed completely out and I can install the new radiator and fill her up with antifreeze.
It was filled with 50/50 about 2 months ago but since it was leaking I was topping it off with water out of convenience and I guess I diluted it too much. Luckily the tear in the radiator allowed the water to expand and I don't think I lost a freeze plug. I hope. If so then it is over. Lesson learned...but is it too late?

This is why all you snow lovers out there seem insane to me. Cold weather is abhorrent and repellent to me. I detest ice and snow.

Hope your engine is fine and that radiator solves your problem. Im tired of this cold weather too. Once we have one good snow like we did a few weeks ago Im ready for the warm weather to come back.

I have a heater under it now. I have the front end covered with a tarp and I see drips so it's thawing. The hood is warm.

Hopefully you didn't mess something up.... wow, not something I would have done.

I would have atleast disconnected the lower hose so it would have drained.

    I'm not a mechanic...if I would have known any better I would have done it differently but I don't and I didn't. I learn as I go.
I'm going out now to check the engine and install the radiator and hose.

    Don't forget the antifreeze. :D

Congratulations and condolences on getting back on the road! Hopefully you're done with the leaking after this...

Wrong radiator. It fits perfectly but:
The upper hose inlet is 4 or 5 inches inboard and the original was on the very edge of the upper tank. If I install the hose my fan will hit it.
The hose I bought is also the incorrect size as it is too narrow to fit over the waterpump outlet.
I blame myself for the former, Autozone for the latter.

Good time to remove that fan and install an electric.
