I need to mention one more thing. Joe, at General Spring, gave me the option of free shipping or free bushings. It was my choice to take the bushings. I'm looking forward to the new ride.

    CAUTION!!!

New springs may raise the back of your car TOO much. Don't be surprised if you have to have them de-arched. I would mount them and leave them on for about a month before you decide what to do.

Hi Craig. I do know that the rear will probably sit high when first installed. It does take some time for it to settle down. But, as far as having them de-arched......no way. I'll be happy with the new ride. I've never heard of any other members having sever enough problems to have them de-arched as you mentioned. I'll let you know how things work out. Craig

JC Whitney springs will not raise it too high, as long as stock shackles are used...

Too bad JC Whitney isn't local to me any more. Back in the early 90s when they were still in chicago they were very close to where I was living. The thing was to go in, place the order, and it would come down from the wearhouse on the belt.... take a look at it and if was junk just leave it there at the counter. I don't trust JC-Whitney when they don't give a manufacturer.

I never got around to buying springs from before, but I want to stick with US made as well, but I also don't want to pay $400 for a pair. I can live with $200.

I used to go there many years ago too. If I remember right, I think they were on Archer and State. Ahhhh....the good old days.

I just called JC Whitney to check on my order. The springs were supposed to be shipped the 5th. Last week they told me there was no problems and they would be shipped on time. Today they told me they are on backorder for another month (June).

i just called on my order also and was told the earliest they were expecting to ship was may 23. mine were supposed to be out april 23. i canceled my order. i told them about several members of this site trying to get springs and how much buisiness they were losing but the only response i got was that this is a factory problem and there is nothing they can do. i suggested a flag on the order form letting people know that it will take months to get this item. i don't think it will change anything. jc is usually so good about their items. this is a let down! i guess i will have to call the other guy mentioned above. i hate paying an extra $100.
DOES ANYONE KNOW IF MUSTANG SPRINGS ARE THE SAME??? asked above but not answered yet.

Got my springs from General Spring today. As much as I didn't like paying the extra $$$$.....at least I have them and it's it's a done deal now. Also, stencilled Made in the USA. The springs have were made by Stanley Spring LLC in Dayton, Ohio. The bushings are in a bag anf it says Dayton Parts LLC also in Dayton, Ohio. You may want to try calling them directly to see if you can get them a little cheaper. Good Luck all. Craig

Luckily I have time to wait. I'm going to wait it out and see if JC Whitney starts shipping in June.

unfortunatly i don't have the time to wait. i bit the bullet and placed my order with general springs today. hate the extra money but what can you do. a local spring company wanted $200 per spring to make them or $250 a set to rearch and add a spring. told them no thanks.
