If I was worried about it, I'd find something cheaper to keep me busy.

I don't keep receipts or total them up. Don't want to know more than a rough idea. When I do think about it, I subtract the current value from the total. Good idea to then divide by the number of years to get your annual hobby cost.

Then consider what other guys spend annually on golf, fishing equipment and trips, chasing women, etc. Then there are the guys that do all of the above. See, I'm not so bad. :p

I keep all money spent, on a spreadsheet and print it out every few months. I keep track of everything I spend, even license, registration, insurance, etc.
I keep the printout on my wall. I don't worry abt what I spend on it. I spend what I want/can afford.

My wife never ask, questions or inquires abt what I spend on the car. I keep spending to a level I consider reasonable to safely enjoy the car. I suppose what one wants/ can afford to spend is governed by their stage in life. Folks who still have children frm toddler to college level have to be mindful of what they spend on unecessary things. Old timers, like me can be a little more carefree on the things we enjoy. The key word for me is ENJOY.
